Dear SAS Scholar,

Congratulations on achieving the very high honor of summa or magna cum laude. At any school that is indeed an honor, but at a school like SAS to graduate in the top five or top ten percent, it takes on an even more special meaning. AND WE WANT TO CELEBRATE YOU!

We are planning a very special evening to celebrate your great accomplishment. You will be receiving a formal printed invitation, but please save the date. Our annual top ten percent ceremony is Tuesday, March 18, at 7 pm at MDC Eduardo J. Padron Campus 16th Floor, 627 SW 27 Avenue. Appetizers will be served starting an hour before the ceremony. 

You may bring three guests, and one of those guests we wish for you to invite an educator who has made an impact in your life. It can be a teacher, counselor, coach, or school employee. It can be someone from SAS or any other school you have attended. In years past we have had college professors, middle school and elementary school teachers, coaches just to name a few. (Due to space we cannot have more than three guests per senior.) Your two guests will take part in the ceremony.

Dress is semi-formal for you and your guests. 

We will have some surprises for you and for your guests. For your invited educator, I am asking that you send me a short paragraph, 3-4 sentences, stating why they are so special. 

I will be contacting you with more information in the coming weeks. For now, I ask that you please email me if you will be coming and the two guests you will be bringing. As soon as you have confirmed the educator you will invite, please let me know. 

If you have any questions, you may contact me. I have cc'd your counselor in this email. They have been to the ceremony before so can answer any questions.

Once again, congratulations! I look forward to seeing you at the ceremony.
